Japa (Sanskrit: जप) is a spiritual discipline involving the meditative repetition of a mantra or name of a divine power.
The mantra or name may be spoken softly, enough for the practitioner to hear it, or it may be spoken within the reciter’s mind.
Japa may be performed while sitting in a meditation posture, while performing other activities, or as part of formal worship in group settings.
The practice of repetitive prayer is present in varied forms within most religions in the world. Japa is considered the best method for self realization in the modern world as it helps to focus and concentrate the mind lead it to true mediation and ultimately Samadhi.
We will begin the workshop with a discourse on mantra and Japa Yoga.
From there we will construct our own Mala to use during japa practice. (wooden beads included, crystal beads at additional cost)
Each participant will select a mantra that resonates with them (we focuses exclusively on Moksha or liberation mantras that have the ability to lead the practitioner to the enlightened state)then through ceremony you will receive an empowerment to assist you in the practice of Japa Yoga.
The suggested donation is $88 and it includes the components for a 108 bead wooden mala (other materials like crystal beads can be purchased at an additional cost.)
